The Meadow Vole is also called the “Meadow Mouse,” and is one of the most common and prolific small mammals in North America. This rodent is active all year and can swim. They are found in swampy pastures, fields covered with dead grass and herbs, coastal saline meadows, and sometimes grassy openings to forests.
